Happy Monday (excuse the paradox). The word 'Monday' comes from the Old English word, 'Mōnandæg' which means literally, "day of the moon". This may seem to be oxymoronic, however it juxtaposes 'Sunday', also of Old English origin (Sunnandæg), meaning "day of sun".
